Payment Gateway Guide

Payment Gateway Setup Information

A payment gateway is what is used to process credit card payments for online orders. It is equivalent to a credit card terminal that is used in your store to process credit cards. Without a credit card terminal in your store you would not be able to accept credit cards as a form of payment from customers who come to your store. Likewise, a payment gateway is required so that customers can use credit cards as a form of payment when placing online orders for your store. Think of a payment gateway as a virtual (web-based) credit card terminal.

An E-Commerce merchant account and payment gateway are required to process online credit card transactions. The Payment Gateway setup will be requested based on the option selected on the subscription form. You must setup your merchant account and fill out the necessary information on the subscription form.

Merchant Setup

We suggest the following three options in terms of setting up your merchant account:

  1. Bank of America Merchant Services:

    1. You will be required to switch your in-store credit card processor to Bank of America (if it is not already Bank of America) if you select this option

    2. Associated fees:

      • Credit card processing and gateway fees are negotiated between Bank of America Merchant Services and you
    3. You will need to contact the Target Market Team at 888-317-5402 to setup a new credit card E-Commerce merchant account if your current BOA account is for gift card transactions only. BOA will notify us when your account setup is complete.

  2. Mercury Payment Systems E-Commerce Account and Gateway:

    1. MPS will allow you to keep your current in-store processor and setup an online only account with them. They will also match or beat your current in-store rates and will not charge a setup fee

    2. Associated fees:

      • Gateway fee waived
      • Credit card processing fees are negotiated between MPS and you
    3. If you are interested in this setup, please provide NovaDine with the following information:

      • Fax 3 months of in-store merchant statements to 866-709-2779

      • Send an email to setup@novadine.com with the below information:
        • Name, Email Address, Cell Phone Number
        • DBA, Business Address, Business Phone Number

    Note

    NovaDine will pass the information provided by you to Mercury Payment Systems. A representative will contact you directly to setup the account. MPS will notify us when your account setup is complete.

  3. Authorize.Net Gateway with Current Processor:

    1. This option will allow you to process credit cards with your current in-store processor using an authorize.net gateway account rather than Orbital or MPS

    2. Associated fees:

      • $99.00 one time setup fee
      • $20.00 monthly fee
      • $0.10 per transaction

    Note

    Please be advised that we do not offer support with this setup and there may be setup fees and additional charges. Be sure to find out all costs associated with this setup from your merchant provider.
